The Obesity Epidemic and Nutrition

This 10 hour continuing education course covers obesity and nutrition.

This course is intended for an inter-professional audience, including nurses and other healthcare professionals. The course provides 10 general hours on the topics of obesity and nutrition. For Florida Nurse Practitioners, the hours are also coded for Autonomous Practice CE.

At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:

• Describe the scope of the obesity epidemic.
• Describe the impact of obesity on the United States healthcare system.
• Identify average percent of body weight loss for GLP-1 agonist, semaglutide.
• Identify contributing factors to insulin resistance.
• Describe the changes to American diet and whole grains.
