In accordance with Public Act 102-0820 and amendments to the Illinois Controlled Substances Act (720 ILCS 570/315.5), all Illinois advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) with a Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) are required to complete 3 hours of continuing education on safe opioid prescribing practices during each license renewal cycle.
