📜 Legal Authority: Why ANCC Accreditation Covers Multiple Professions
As an American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accredited provider (P0557), Renew Now CE is officially recognized as a Continuing Education Sponsor by the Illinois Board of Nursing, which is administered by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Division of Professional Regulation.
This recognition allows us to qualify as an approved provider under Illinois state regulations for many different IDFPR-licensed professions, specifically as:
"an entity that is recognized as a continuing education provider under any licensing Act administered by the Division or its rules for any profession licensed by the Division" — 68 Ill. Adm. Code 1130.400(b)(2)
Therefore, Renew Now CE can provide required CE courses to many different professions licensed by IDFPR that are subject to the mandatory training requirements outlined below.
Licensed healthcare professionals may satisfy the cultural competency CE requirement by completing a course offered by any Division-approved continuing education provider. Renew Now CE is recognized by the Illinois Board of Nursing as an approved provider.
For license or registration renewals occurring on or after January 1, 2023, a health care professional who has continuing education requirements must complete at least a one-hour course in training on implicit bias awareness per renewal period. A health care professional may count this one hour toward meeting the minimum credit hours required for continuing education. Any training on implicit bias awareness applied to meet any other State licensure requirement, professional accreditation or certification requirement, or health care institutional practice agreement may count toward the one-hour requirement under this Section.
This one-hour course on Sexual Harassment Prevention Training is designed to meet the mandatory CE requirement for licensees renewing a professional license through IDFPR. As an ANCC-accredited provider recognized under 68 Ill. Adm. Code 1130.400(b)(2), Renew Now CE can provide this required course to many different IDFPR-licensed professions subject to the one-hour sexual harassment prevention training requirement.
Note to Licensee: Completion of this one-hour course may be counted toward the minimum credit hours required for continuing education for all applicable professional licenses you hold through IDFPR. As with all CE, the licensee is responsible for retaining their certificate of completion and ensuring the course meets all current requirements for their specific professional license renewal.
Any training on Alzheimer's disease and other dementias applied to meet any other State licensure requirement, professional accreditation or certification requirement, or health care institutional practice agreement may count toward the continuing education requirement under this Section.
